Each varietal of cacao possesses its own spectrum of nuances, aromas, and (in my opinion) the most interesting aspect - its own “energy” or personality that influences and offers a varied experience when drinking cacao in ceremony.

All cacao beans are sourced from small family farms that grow cacao using agroforestry cultivation techniques - in symbiosis with nature. Some of the cacao I source is from indigenous people - as part of an initiative to empower them to retain the ancestral land that is threatened to be taken away from them.

Supporting the families and native people growing the cacao by purchasing cacao beans from them at a premium price allows them to earn an honest living and remain in stewardship with their land.
